Note: This position supports US Federal customers and requires passing a ServiceNow background screening (USFedPASS). Due to Federal requirements, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens or US Permanent Residents will be considered.
As a key member of the Systems Administration team, you will be responsible for the administration and operations of the global cloud infrastructure. This role is at the core of running a Cloud SaaS platform.
What you get to do in this role:
- Contribute to Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code.
- Develop tools in Python, bash, and JavaScript to improve customer maintenance.
- Drive enhancements and bugfixes for large scale automation projects.
- Design and implement procedures for maintenances where automation cannot.
- Prepare new ServiceNow products for production readiness with design review and testing.
- Use knowledge of systems administration and networking to proactively prevent and address incidents.
- Participate in escalations and Root Cause Analysis.
- Troubleshoot database backup and restore failures and perform database migrations.
- Support operation of infrastructure services including Machine Learning, Big Data clusters, messaging, database encryption, and more.
To be successful in this role, you have:
The ideal candidate will have expert-level skills in systems administration and engineering, understanding of cloud infrastructure components. Prior experience in Site Reliability Engineering/DevOps is highly desirable. Strong Linux expertise is a must.
- 4+ years of experience with Linux (RedHat and/or CentOS)
- Experience with monitoring and configuration management platforms.
- Working level knowledge of one: Perl, Python, JavaScript
- Familiarity with MySQL, Oracle, MariaDB, or similar technologies
- Expert-level skills with service troubleshooting in a production environment.
- Familiarity with Networking Technologies.
- Understanding of ITIL v3 framework.
- Good communication skills and work well in a collaborative team environment.
