Full-Time Senior NetOps Engineer (Python)

Candidates must be based in Portugal, as you’ll be integrated into one of our Portuguese delivery teams. Communicate directly with the client (Devoteam France) on technical requirements, project progress, and architectural decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust network automation solutions using Python (REST API, ORM) and the Django framework.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design, implement, and support scalable and resilient network architectures.
• Manage and automate complex network environments (both on-prem and cloud) using Git, treating infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Develop automation workflows and maintain network device configurations using templating tools like Jinja.
• Work extensively with cloud networking services within AWS (or other hyperscalers).
• Apply and promote best practices in network engineering, automation, and CI/CD development.
• Prepare and maintain clear technical documentation for network designs and automation workflows.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a Network Engineering, NetOps, or Network Automation role.
• Strong Networking Expertise: Solid understanding of network fundamentals and architecture in enterprise environments.
• Hardware Experience: Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Arista hardware.
• Advanced Python: Proficiency in Python for automation, interacting with REST APIs, and using ORMs.
• Web Framework Experience: Proven experience developing applications or backends using the Django framework.
• Cloud Skills: Solid experience with a major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and Git-based workflows.
• Templating: Experience with Jinja for configuration templating.

Nice to have:

• Source of Truth (SoT): Direct experience with Network SoT platforms, ideally Netbox or Nautobot.
• Configuration Management: Experience with tools like Ansible and automation platforms like AWX.
• Serverless: Exposure to serverless technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
• Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with key protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VxLAN).
