AECOM is seeking a Senior Permitting Manager to work remotely. The client is located in Sacramento, CA, so Pacific Time is expected.
SUMMARY: This role supports the efficient strategy development and implementation for pre-Record of Decision environmental permitting, ensuring compliance with Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, assessing the need for additional documentation and permits for maintenance and emergency activities on property.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support pre-record of decision environmental permitting activities pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 7 of the federal Endangered Species Act, etc.
- Develop strategy and review documentation and reports.
- Support staff coordination with permitting agencies during environmental review.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support staff to manage existing nonoperational right-of-way (ROW).
- Evaluate compliance with existing federal, state, and local permits for nonoperational ROW.
- Evaluate need for additional permits for maintenance activities on nonoperational ROW.
- Evaluate compliance with existing environmental documents (CEQA and NEPA).
- Ensure additional CEQA/NEPA documentation where needed for maintenance activities.
- Act as liaison and advisor to other branches/consultants.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in biology, environmental science, or related field.
- Experience with major environmental laws (CEQA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, endangered species acts, Porter-Cologne Act, Lake/streambed alteration agreements).
- Experience with construction compliance tracking, documentation, and reporting.
- Experience with project delivery processes (design-build contracting).
