Your mission Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless deployment, operation, and scaling of applications written in Ruby, Elixir, Node.js, and Python. Ensure compliance with privacy and security requirements and enable us to demonstrate industry standards by appropriately embedding compliance into infrastructure and processes. Automate operational tasks and infrastructure as code. Stay up-to-date with advancements in cloud infrastructure, security, cost optimization, and DevOps practices, ensuring BetterDoc’s platform remains efficient and effective. Transition our applications towards an event driven architecture Develop and enforce security best practices for applications and infrastructure, including identity and access management, network security, and encryption. Analyze and optimize AWS usage and costs, implementing strategies to reduce expenses while maintaining performance and reliability. Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, compliance processes, cost management, and operational guidelines. Monitor and manage our environments by integrating telemetry and observability into the platform. Maintain best practices around notifications and response processes. Implement DevOps infrastructure components and best practices. Deploy CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.

Development Opportunities Lead and mentor 1–2 (junior) engineers, supporting their professional growth and technical skills.

Your profile

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 3 years experience in software engineering
• Minimum of 2 years experience in cloud platform and infrastructure projects
• Experience operating/maintaining Cloud solutions in Enterprise environments
• Experience in designing, deploying, and managing AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, Ruby, or Javascript
• Proficiency in Linux
• Experience in building highly available, scalable, distributed systems in a Microservices based architecture
• A solid grasp of development, automation, and monitoring tools and practices. With the tools that include Terraform, Grafana, Bash, GitHub Actions.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD
• Working knowledge of Containerization, network protocols, encryption, and security.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, including setup, configuration, and optimization.
• Familiarity with working in an agile environment.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and the ability to implement robust security measures.
• Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset, passionate about delivering value through technology.
