This role is part of our Central Platform Engineering Team at saas.group. We are on a mission to turbocharge promising B2B SaaS ventures, unlocking their full potential. As a Software-as-a-Service portfolio powerhouse, we specialize in acquiring small software treasures and polishing them into industry stars. With a dynamic, fully remote team of nearly 350+ colleagues spanning 50+ countries we are truly global.
Our Platform Engineering team runs central infrastructure services and partners with brands to modernize their stacks. The mission: provide a “paved road” of opinionated best practices that brands can adopt quickly, and support hands-on migrations when needed. You’ll own outcomes for a set of brands: assess where they are, recommend what “good” looks like, and implement the plan. The role blends architecture, enablement, and practical engineering. It’s senior and autonomous: you’ll advise and sometimes convince stakeholders, then deliver.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead infrastructure projects for assigned brands: migrations, performance & reliability improvements, incident response practices, containerization, and cloud cost optimizations.
- Establish/upgrade CI/CD, infra as code, monitoring, alerting, and SLO-aligned dashboards; baseline and improve reliability with data.
- Advise brand CTOs/engineering leads on trade-offs and architecture; justify decisions with clear reasoning and measurable outcomes.
- Contribute to and consume central services (e.g., observability, backups) so brands don’t reinvent the wheel.
- Collaborate with developers as part of the product team during engagements; troubleshoot across app and infra boundaries.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
What You bring to the table:
- 5+ years of experience in Platform or Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, or similar).
- A background in software development or the ability to read and debug application code.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills.
