Senior Principal Platform Architect is a technical advisory role, helping customers build a strong technical foundation on the ServiceNow Platform, designing solutions for business outcomes. This involves establishing and supporting best practices around instance strategy, technical governance, core data, integrations, and overall platform health.
This highly consultative role does not configure the platform; instead, it guides partners and customers to best practices.
This role interacts with clients at all levels (executive, platform owners, enterprise architects, and development teams) during the sales, structuring, and implementation phases.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Senior-level enterprise architect experience
- Proven track record in management consulting (professional services or cloud software companies) focused on technology strategy, governance, data, and solution design
- Demonstrated ability to advise senior executives and drive customer success
- Experience with business value identification, roadmap creation, and successful execution strategies, including governance frameworks and large enterprise program management
Responsibilities:
- Developing strong relationships with CIOs and business leaders
- Translating business objectives into a customer roadmap
- Enterprise architecture analysis and translation of business/technical requirements to an architectural blueprint for complex objectives
- Working with customer enterprise architects to integrate ServiceNow into core systems
- Establishing and managing technical governance processes
- Guiding instance health remediation to align with ServiceNow best practices
- Establishing delivery operating model governance for successful go-lives, adoption, and ongoing support
- Advocating for ServiceNow advisory and expert services best practices and industry use cases
- Providing thought leadership through methodologies and white papers
- Developing prescriptive solutions aligned with out-of-the-box capabilities
- Supporting sales efforts in scoping and estimating customer vision and capabilities
Required Skills:
- Experience integrating AI into work processes/decision-making
- Consulting experience (Big 4, strategy firms, or OEM/cloud companies)
- 8+ years of management consulting leadership in technology (digital, SaaS, enterprise software)
- Experience with Fortune 500 or OEM/cloud company enterprise architecture
- Career progression in a technical architecture role
- Experience with functional business leaders
- Experience in identifying business objectives and developing outcome-focused roadmaps
- Experience with large consulting/SI organizations
- 12+ years of experience in large program leadership in architecture and design
- Enterprise Architecture experience and certification (TOGAF, IT4IT, etc.)
- Database, core data design, security, and integration experience
- Cloud application technology experience (SFDC, Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle Cloud, Remedy)
- Minimum 2 years ServiceNow Platform experience
- Cloud platform certification(s)
- Experience with enterprise workflow platforms
