Element 84 is seeking a Senior Product Manager to work in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Design, develop, and deploy products/services for more discoverable Earth science data.
Involved in team performance, execution, budget, and customer satisfaction.
Oversee roadmap and delivery of a Scaled Agile (SAFe) release train supporting searching, discovering, accessing, and managing Earth science data.
Ensure adherence to operational agreements, policies, program, and federal agency standards.
Teamwork & Leadership
- Help team understand customer goals and feature value.
- Help customers understand Element 84's development process and advocate for better processes.
- Grow the team by engaging with customers and driving project vision.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, data scientists, business users, and project managers.
- Build and maintain relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments.
Execution
- Define and support building desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable cloud-based products.
- Collaborate with internal/external teams to define customer needs, build consensus on strategy, and track dependencies/roadmaps.
- Support Agile Release Train (ART) in delivering value through Program Kanban and Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
- Define Release and Program Increment (PI) priorities, lead/participate in PI planning.
- Manage/prioritize ART feature backlog and ensure product completeness.
- Develop/communicate product vision and roadmap to coordinate multiple Product Managers, ARTs, and Suppliers.
- Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor project progress.
- Develop detailed project plans/roadmaps to communicate project vision and future.
- Map dependencies from roadmap to other teams.
- Incorporate quality measures/standards into project deliverables.
- Run formal planning sessions with stakeholders.
- Approve timesheets, ensure accurate staffing, monitor budget, manage resourcing.
- Understand/explain project technologies.
- Work with customers to propose/expand product scope, draft proposals, and work with customers on feature budgets.
- Inform Contracts team about contract renewal process.
- Understand market, user interactions, and anticipate future needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in building enterprise-scale software applications.
- 4+ years of people management in Agile development environments.
- Ability to ensure product alignment with vision, goals, and objectives.
- Ability to align development with end-user needs/customer goals.
- Experience using metrics/data to drive a development team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, RACI chart creation experience.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (on larger projects).
- Travel required (approx. 6 trips per year).
- US work authorization and ability to pass NACI screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with geospatial data tools, data, and needs.
- Experience leading large, complex projects with diverse stakeholders.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Conflict Resolution skills.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $153,000
