A successful Sr. Product Manager leads and manages a core business feature or multiple product areas within a brand. They excel at driving valuable product delivery, have a vision for their product area, and a plan to execute that vision. They clearly articulate how their product roadmaps align with the brand product strategy and how their work impacts customers.
Ownership and management of the roadmap: A Sr. Product Manager owns the management of their roadmap and understands the reasoning behind each decision, consulting their Brand Product Lead before making key changes.
Direct customer engagement: This person engages with customers weekly to understand industry trends, pain points, and how the product solves problems.
Mentoring and leadership: They serve as a leading example of exceptional product delivery and drive the development of their peers.
Focus on product delivery: This role is the most senior position focused on product delivery in a product area without brand-wide responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Owns planning, vision, and implementation of features for core business or multiple product areas
- Provides regular input on overall product strategy and team alignment
- Develops an understanding of the industry, trends, technologies, and markets
- Engages current and prospective customers to understand needs, practices, and future plans
- Establishes and aligns product roadmaps with broader strategy
- Mentors and manages product colleagues, developing their skillsets
- Identifies areas of improvement and new opportunities
- Engages internal stakeholders to execute releases and support the public narrative
- Delivers clear product requirements to guide the development team
- Manages and grooms the product backlog, ensuring tickets are ready for sprints

- Participates in Scrum process and drives effective ceremonies
