The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a senior product manager to serve Wikipedia readers.
Summary
The role will focus on refining and enhancing the reader experience. This includes managing multiple skins and accessibility features, such as dark mode. The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional team, ideate new features, and rigorously test and iterate solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Reader Experience team to build new features, deepening reader connections with Wikipedia.
- Own the ongoing refinement of the Wikipedia reading experience.
- Proactively gather feedback from volunteer communities.
- Utilize standardized measurement practices (e.g., A/B testing, user research).
- Track progress and maintain planning artifacts (roadmaps, specs, release plans).
- Stay updated on knowledge-seeking, AI, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with Communications, Marketing, and Legal teams.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager.
- Agile software development experience preferred.
- Building global consumer-facing products.
- Understanding of design principles.
- Experience with stakeholder alignment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with controlled experiments.
