Full-Time Senior Production Engineer

Yahoo Mail is a leading consumer email service, used by millions of users. The Mail engineering team builds and maintains the Yahoo Mail platforms, integrating with various Yahoo products.

Production Engineering focuses on automated solutions for daily operations, auto-scaling, auto-remediation, failure detection, and frequent changes within a large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with architects and developers for service delivery to a large user base.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage Yahoo Mail cloud infrastructure.
• Migrating large-scale on-prem applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Administering and maintaining cloud infrastructure.
• Providing on-call support, monitoring, and ensuring security best practices.
• Automating deployments and establishing CI/CD pipelines.
• Creating reusable cloud infrastructure templates via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.

Qualifications require a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability, DevOps, Infrastructure, and cloud environments (preferred GCP).
• Proficiency in managing GCP services (GKE, GCE, Networking, Security, CI/CD).
• Proven experience with large-scale applications, computer systems, and networks.
• Proficiency in Linux, TCP/IP, HTTP, MAIL protocols, DNS, CDNs, load balancers, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Programming proficiency (Python, Go, or Java) and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Nice to have: Experience with cloud databases, storage, transaction processing (OLTP/OLAP), machine learning platforms, and cloud observability tools.
• Proven experience migrating on-premise infrastructure to GCP.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
