WHAT DOES A SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER DO?
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) leads internal day-to-day operations and delivery for strategic, creative, and medium-to-high complexity projects, from inception to completion, within a brand or multiple brands.
The SPM has expert-level project management skills, leading any project/program with limited supervision, as the primary internal contact for their projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Full lifecycle delivery & management of complex, technical, strategic, and creative projects.
- Develops & manages project timelines, estimates, risk registers, communication plans, burn reports, and change logs with minimal oversight.
- Leads estimation, budget, & staff plan parameters with minimal supervision.
- Leads project timeline creation with internal/external stakeholders with minimal supervision.
- Leads project kickoffs & status meetings.
- Creates/reviews/distributes meeting recaps; mentors Project Managers (PM) & Project Coordinators (PC) in recap writing.
- Develops financial forecasts with AD & GPD for proactive financial management.
- Facilitates monthly billing, analysis, and action with AD, Finance, & Account.
- Assists in developing annual/project-based SOWs with Account Services, AD, & GPD.
- Provides input to program Gantt Charts with ADs & GPD.
- Assists in change order creation & management with Account Services, AD, & GPD.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent + professional experience.
- 3-5 years PMO experience. Pharmaceutical/advertising experience (AOR or DAOR) preferred.
- Advanced understanding & application of PMO standards/processes.
- Experience leading complex, technology, strategy, & creative projects.
- Ability to develop creative, strategic, or technical project plans.
- Ability to tailor/flex processes to proactively facilitate projects.
- Experience leading diverse functional groups & project teams.
- Understanding of project forecasting/reforecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Expert project/program burn analysis & remediation.
- Strong scope/change management tracking & adherence.
- Client-facing communication experience.
- Strong critical thinking/problem-solving skills, anticipating/assessing/mitigating risks.
- Ability to build trust, negotiate, & influence decision-making (Account, SMEs, Clients, Partner Agencies, 3rd-party vendors).
- Strong sense of ownership & accountability.
- Strong decision-making/implementation skills under uncertainty.
- Experience with Project Management Information Systems (Workfront, Workfront Proof, Smartsheet, MS Project).
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
- Launch experience a plus.
