Full-Time Senior Project Manager

Title: Senior Project Manager (Data & Analytics Projects)

Location: Remote USA

Reports To: Project Director

The Role: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing data & analytics project progress, managing risk, and escalating issues. The role ensures the project is delivered on budget, on schedule, and within scope.

Impact: Collaborate closely with technical data & analytics teams. Develop and manage project plans and communication strategies. Organize tasks effectively and efficiently within the designated timeline. Monitor and adjust schedules to meet milestones. Facilitate smooth workflow and maintain clear communication among all team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop/manage full-scale project plans and communication documents using appropriate tools
• Logically organize work for effective execution and schedule management
• Initiate and update resource requests
• Track, manage, update, and control issues
• Assess, document, and manage internal/external project risks; develop contingencies and mitigation plans
• Maintain focus on budget and communicate/escalate potential cost risks
• Understand and manage budget impact per contractual obligations and SLAs
• Use project management tools and techniques for cost planning and estimating
• Understand and explain root causes for variance
• Understand scope, identify changes early, and execute change approval procedures
• Set achievable project objectives; maintain a positive outlook, take responsibility, make decisions, and provide constructive feedback
• Strategize, inspire, and motivate team members
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ensure project documents are completed, labeled, and stored
• Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors
• Influence positive action and accountability within a team structure
• Share information and best practices, delegate responsibility, promote support and interaction
• Maintain a high level of trust with team members
• Prepare and review project status reports with details and distribute weekly
• Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders
• Manage quality planning, delivery, & execution of the project
• Manage key relationships with internal & external executives, business, procurement, and vendor teams

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in business or equivalent experience in the data & analytics field
• Agile project management experience
• Minimum 2 years Scrum experience (Scrum Master capacity)
• Waterfall experience is a plus
• Experienced with agile data & analytics product development principles
• Ability to lead/represent distributed teams
• Basic understanding of Machine Learning & AI concepts
• Experience in a high-performing team
• Strong ability to balance multiple priorities and respond to urgent issues
• Experience managing complex data projects from initiation to completion
• Understand the line of business, product/project domain, and its relationship to the overall client portfolio
• Understand data warehousing, data lake, and data pipelining/ETL concepts
• Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage approvals and sign-offs, allocate resources, and manage priorities
• Active listening skills, dispute resolution, and negotiation
• Communicate timely, tactfully, concisely, and candidly
• Encourage interactive communication and be receptive to feedback
• Manage key relationships with internal & external executive, business, and vendor teams
• Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Tools
• Ability to understand and apply established policies and procedures, corporate tools, and technical requirements
• Effective negotiator using a positive win/win strategy
• Leverage technical and business expertise to optimize team delivery
• Ability to travel based on project needs
