Full-Time Senior Quality Engineer

Purpose of your roleThe Senior Quality Engineer role will bring industry-leading technical and testing skills and practices that enable the improvement of the overall software quality of our products.

You are passionate about the quality of the outcomes of the software your team is working on and you are constantly looking for ways to improve quality across the entire SDLC.

Working in an agile environment you will provide technical leadership and provide senior technical expertise and support while delivering quality software.

You have a great understanding of all the skills and competencies required to bring a successful software product to life and understand that you are a critical part of a creative and learning environment for the organisation.

Your communication, collaboration and ability to convey complex concepts will enable you to discuss quality with product owners and software engineers and other stakeholders and identify you as the go-to person for all things quality.

You will proactively help push the technical standards and quality of the team forwards.

What you bring

Valuable Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering with at least 2 of those years in a technical test position and at least 2 years in a development role building software solutions

• Excellent understanding of Agile development methodology and development practices such as TDD, Kanban, Lean, etc.

• Proficient in JavaScript (node.js) and C#

• Experience in asynchronous programming

• Demonstrable SQL skills

• Extensive experience in UI test automation

• Proficient in RESTful API services test automation

• Extensive experience with version control tools like Git, Bitbucket

• Demonstrable experience with JavaScript test frameworks such as Mocha/Cucumber/Jasmine etc.

• Experience in writing and assisting your team to create unit, integration and functional tests

• Experience with CI/CD and should have experience of integrating automation tests with CI tools like Bamboo

• Good understanding of cloud architecture and VPC’s

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of performance testing and tools like JMeter, cloud watch and new relic

• Knowledge of mobile test automation

• Configuration Management tools experience

• Should have ability to understand application architecture, system integration, application server, web server, RabbitMQ, Redis, Mongo etc.
