Full-Time Senior Refrigeration Engineer

Key Role: Providing consulting engineering service for the design, implementation, and close-out of commercial refrigeration installations. This role encompasses a full refrigeration consulting spectrum from inception to close-out, including detail design, documentation, procurement, construction, site monitoring, and project close-out.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proficient in heat load calculations.
• Thorough understanding of South African National Standards (SANS - including 10147 & SANS 347), understanding of British Standards, ASHRAE, etc. is advantageous.
• Design based on client requirements and specifications.
• Proficient in modeling software and working knowledge of BIM (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, etc.).
• Proficient in all project stages, from inception to close-out.
• Competent in constructing and compiling tender documentation and managing that process.
• Formulation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ's).
• Specialist equipment specifications understanding and approvals.
• Quality control (QA/QC).
• Site supervision and construction monitoring.
• Troubleshooting existing installations.
• Cost control (related to HVAC & R only).
• Project scoping and scope monitoring.
• Contractor and contract management (mechanical Refrigeration and HVAC discipline).

• Code B driver's license (preferably own car).

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• B Eng/ BSc/ B Tech in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant work experience.
• Professional registration with ECSA is beneficial.
• Registered as a Category "C" practitioner with SARACCA.
• Minimum 3-5 years working experience as a consulting engineer (ideally in commercial refrigeration).
• Experience in commercial refrigeration design and commissioning; HVAC Mechanical experience advantageous.
