We have an opportunity for a Senior Safety Auditor to join our Internal Audit team. This role provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services to add value and improve operations across the Endeavour Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of Internal Audit (IA) objectives.
- Evaluate and test the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
- Lead and conduct assurance engagements.
- Support management in delivering the annual audit plan.
- Provide coaching to team members.
- Support the development, planning, and management of the Safety, Health & Wellbeing Assurance Program.
- Ensure safety, health, and workers compensation self-insurance license requirements are met.
- Provide advisory services and promote continuous improvement in safety performance and safety management systems.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the business in maintaining Safety, Health and Wellbeing and Injury Management Self Insurance Licence through audits.
- Support the development and maintenance of the national safety audit assurance program across retail stores and hotels.
- Lead the execution of high-risk store/hotel safety audits and system management audits.
- Support the development and maintenance of the audit schedule using a risk-based approach.
- Present audit findings to various levels of management, including the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Support team members to achieve engagement with the business as a trusted advisor.
- Identify, recommend, and support operational improvement of IA’s own processes and tools.
- Act as an ambassador for IA during assignments.
- Take initiative to achieve and evolve on IA deliverables.
Requirements:
- Certificate IV (minimum) in Safety, Health and Wellbeing (Diploma in WHS is highly desirable).
- Experience as a Senior Safety Advisor/Auditor with EHS/operational audit experience (Highly Desirable).
- Experience in auditing Safety, Health and Wellbeing Management Systems (Desirable).
- Proficient in the Australian Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Desirable).
- Experience working within a Self Insurance Licence organisation (Desirable).
- Previous operational experience in retail stores and/or hotels (Desirable).
- Ability to provide recommendations for integrating Safety, Health and Wellbeing management systems into business practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyse data.
- Ability to work with teams of auditors and managers.
- Ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude, with an attention to detail.
- Must be available to travel interstate once a month for a 5-day period.
