Full-Time Senior Site Reliability Engineer

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be part of a team automating Guidewire systems for improved efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure reliability of Guidewire's cloud platform and InsuranceSuite products.
• Build tooling for efficient operations and optimal system availability.
• Collaborate with product developers to address functional and non-functional requirements (availability, performance, observability, maintainability).
• Participate in design reviews and production readiness checks.
• Analyze data from observability and monitoring tools to improve operational metrics.
• Create system documentation and training materials.
• Oversee and automate AWS presence.
• Build and maintain observability tooling, metrics, and dashboarding.
• Improve incident management lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong software engineering and task automation skills (Bash, Python, Go).
• Experience supporting web applications (Java, Apache, Tomcat).
• Familiarity with Agile software development.
• Deep Linux systems and engineering knowledge.
• Strong AWS engineering and automation experience.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Terragrunt, Terraspace).
• Experience with DevOps/GitOps tools (Git, Bitbucket, Flux CD, Teamcity).
• Production-at-scale support in a microservice environment.
• Containerization expertise (Docker, Helm, Kubernetes/EKS, CNI, Ingress).
• Understanding of Single-Sign On, SAML, OAuth (Okta preferred).
• x.509 certificate technology and encryption knowledge.
• Relational Database experience (Aurora Postgres, Oracle RDS).
• Application development, web UI experience.
• Observability tool experience (Datadog, CloudWatch, PagerDuty).
• Event store/stream-processing knowledge (Kafka, AWS SQS).
• Open Application Model systems (KubeVela, Crossplane) knowledge (preferred).

Requirements:

• Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Strong public speaking, customer, partner, vendor interaction skills.
• Up to 25% travel (approximately 1 week per month).
