About the Role: Sandbox AQ’s AQNav team seeks a seasoned software engineer to design, implement, and test avionics-certifiable software. The successful candidate will own the entire software lifecycle from conception to production.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as technical expert, guiding and mentoring a growing team.
- Uphold quality and efficiency standards.
- Implement industry best practices.
- Develop long-term requirements, verification/validation, and solutions.
- Design, implement, and test complex AQNav software systems.
- Drive compliance to DO-178 certification.
About You:
- 10+ years of software development or related experience.
- BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Experience with certified avionics software (DO-178).
- Strong expertise in Python and C/C++.
- Experience bringing software through the entire lifecycle (conception to maintenance).
- Proficiency in software development methodologies (Agile, CI/CD, TDD).
- Linux fundamentals (bash scripting, OS configuration).
- Familiarity with developer/DevOps tools (Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Git, GitHub, Jira, Confluence).
Job Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship (required for government contracts).
- DOD Secret security clearance.
- Willingness to travel (less than 20%).
Nice to Haves:
- MS or PhD in related field.
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (SafeRTOS, RT Linux, etc.).
- Knowledge of aerospace applications.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS).
Compensation: $154,000-$256,000 per year (full-time, US base).
