Full-Time Senior Software Engineer

Astra processes payments at the speed of the Internet. Developers leverage our API for accelerated settlement in various transactions (account funding, peer-to-peer, business payments). We simplify complex payment rail interfacing and optimize transactions for fast, secure, automated payments.

Our platform powers next-gen fintech products, rapidly growing. The Astra API is central to financial automation.

Empowering engineers to contribute across product development (strategy to shipping, operations). We expect high performance and problem-solving, with high-quality code due to direct bank transfer and payment interactions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain a customer-facing and internal API
• Build and maintain 3rd-party integrations (bank connectivity, payments)
• Build and maintain payment and transfer automation (triggers, rules, execution)
• Build/enhance internal and developer tools
• Improve payments monitoring, compliance, and workflows
• Debug production issues with customer support
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
• Balance immediate impact with scalability/long-term considerations

Skills:

• Python experience (Flask/Django)
• APIs (Authentication, REST, JSON)
• Databases/Caches (Google Datastore, Memcache, Redis)
• DevOps (Google Cloud Platform, scaling, logging, error collecting)
• Queues (Google Cloud Tasks, Amazon SQS)
• Test suite writing/maintenance
• 5+ years backend engineering experience

Bonus Skills:

• OAuth server building/maintenance
• Financial/payments technology, money movement
