Full-Time Senior Software Engineer

Layer Finance intends to transform the private markets sector by leveraging artificial intelligence. We are building a platform that streamlines deal sourcing and closing for professional market participants.
Our unique proposition integrates three pillars: Deal Brokerage, SaaS solutions, and Outsourcing Services, all aimed at connecting investors with high-quality off-market opportunities.
Our product boosts process efficiency and enables deal teams and professional investors to make better decisions.
We are currently focusing on real estate investments, including both the financing of development projects with debt or equity solutions, and the placement of existing assets in the secondary market.
Additional asset classes, such as company transactions, like strategic financing or company exits, will be added to our platform in the near future.
Our advantage is that we have an in-house team of senior business experts with many years of experience in private markets deal sourcing and closing.

Tasks/Responsibilities
Build a service providing a remote API for our web application and third parties
Manage and maintain a reliable, flexible and secure cloud infrastructure
Own designated areas and make decisions based on product requirements
Contribute to other software development work if necessary

Requirements
Important to have

• Experience with designing and implementing high-quality software services
• Kind, positive and collaborative attitude focused on mutual success
• Ability to work remotely but occasionally meet in-person as needed
• Official permanent or temporary residence in Austria

• Knowledge of Scala or other functional statically typed programming language
• Ability to use Python in a well-engineered and type-safe fashion
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud computing and networking
• Knowledge of information security and data protection practices
• Familiarity with databases and other data storage solutions
• Experience with machine learning algorithms, tools and data analysis
• General competence across a variety of software engineering areas
• Existing work that can be demonstrated or reviewed

Interview process

• Introductory conversation with the software engineering team – 30 minutes
• In-depth conversation with the software engineering team – 2 hours
• Conversation with the company leadership – 30 minutes
