Job Description Mixbook is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering & Platform team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate closely with fellow senior engineers to design, implement, and deploy innovative systems that scale with our growing business and technical needs. Your insights on code architecture and building developer-friendly APIs will be highly valued. We prioritize meaningful and impactful contributions.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with product owners to design, implement, and deploy systems that support growing technical needs.
- Scale product using modern technologies like Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, AWS, and Redshift.
- Contribute to system design, architecture, and code reviews for high-quality scalable solutions.
- Spend 75% of your time coding, with the rest dedicated to team collaboration and technical decision-making.
- Foster collaboration within a cross-functional team.
- Actively engage in team development initiatives.
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of web development experience with expertise in back-end programming languages and frameworks.
- Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails (preferred).
- Experience with databases (strong SQL skills, database design, and ORM usage).
- Experience with data tools (Mixpanel, Segment, GA4, or Optimizely).
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (ideally AWS).
- Knowledge of writing automated tests.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Opinions on code architecture and building developer-friendly APIs.
- General knowledge of front-end programming languages and frameworks.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Intermediate English speaking skills (B2 or greater).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
