Position Title: Senior Software Engineer (Haskell/Functional Programming)
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Location: Chapel Hill, NC; Newton, MA or Minneapolis, MN; New York, NY; Remote in approved locations
Compensation: $155,000-$175,000, plus bonus potential and benefits.
Position Summary: Lead the development of a world-class technology platform. Work with a diverse team (Haskellers, backend and mobile developers, data scientists, product managers) to design, implement, and govern product features. Deliver solutions that are correct, flexible, efficient, secure, and maintainable. Strong emphasis on ownership, self-motivation, teamwork, and fast-paced agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own substantial workstreams (new features and improvements)
- Collaborate with team members to create a seamless user experience
- Contribute to platform architectural decisions
- Build and maintain internal administrative applications
- Achieve operational excellence (code reviews, quality assurance, production monitoring)
- Prioritize security, privacy, and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expert in Haskell and functional programming
- Knowledge of various programming languages and paradigms
- Proven engineering principles and understanding of common tools and patterns
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies
- Experience with data-driven systems, databases, APIs, and streaming solutions
- Understanding of microservices and monolith architectures
- Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of HTTP and REST APIs
