Solutions Engineering Department at Nearmap is a highly technical group with diverse skillsets. We are geospatial experts (geographers, civil engineers, architects, programmers) who help customers unlock the value of Nearmap content. We provide demonstrations showing how our 2D, 3D, and AI can integrate into existing applications, improving workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Support technical engagements for Nearmap Partners with sales leaders and partner account managers (discovery calls, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts).
- Assist customers and prospects in designing and implementing custom applications using Nearmap APIs and custom content.
- Partner with US prospects and customers to understand needs and recommend solutions, identifying additional Nearmap products.
- Understand content delivery requirements and advise on best methods (APIs, offline products, etc.)
- Enable customers to leverage Nearmap's analytical power through solutions and workflows.
- Build custom demos tailored to client needs and tech stacks.
- Create technical demonstrations and documents for customer presentations.
- Support Sales team with conferences, speaking engagements, webinars, blogs.
- Maintain strong customer communication and understanding.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (preferred in Geography or STEM)
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role, preferably in technical presales.
- Experience with Python, APIs, and web mapping applications.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex technical details to business audiences.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in teams
- Public speaking and presentation experience.
- Experience with creating compelling user stories leveraging geospatial data.
- Experience in a B2B technical pre-sales role, ideally with large enterprises.
- Experience with remotely sensed data, including geospatial datasets, is preferred.
- Working knowledge of one or more related technologies: solar design, wireless infrastructure, AR/VR/XR, geolocation, autonomous vehicles, UAVs, gaming engines, etc.
