DomainTools is seeking a dynamic Senior Systems Engineer passionate about operational excellence in hybrid cloud and bare metal infrastructure, automation, and team-building. Help build tools and processes to accelerate security product management, operation, and delivery.
We leverage open source technologies in public and private cloud environments. Our engineers are open-source enthusiasts and veteran generalists eager to solve infrastructure problems across the stack. Key focus areas include:
- Migrating traditional services to Kubernetes-based hybrid cloud.
- Automating deployments to bare metal hosts and services.
- Modernizing monitoring and observability tools.
- Building tools and processes for internal customers.

Responsibilities:
- Build and operate Linux-based systems (public cloud and colocation).
- Manage the lifecycle of open-source and custom services (authentication, logging, metrics, code repos, secrets management).
- Modernize infrastructure by migrating to containers or writing IaC automation (VMs/bare-metal).
- Partner with engineering teams to build self-service tools for faster and safer value delivery.
- Improve system visualization through monitoring, metrics, instrumentation, and logs.
- Manage and monitor databases and data flows (replication, high availability).
- Mentor engineers and improve team delivery ability.
- Reduce business risk by implementing security and business continuity compliance.
- Write and maintain operational documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in Linux systems engineering.
- Experience migrating custom services into containers.
- Infrastructure management experience in public cloud and physical environments (IaC tools).
- Proven ability to automate tasks with scripts, config management, and CI/CD.
- Solid understanding of networking and storage.
- Documentation and process building skills for team contribution.
- SaaS product support experience.
- Prioritization skills and ability to tackle ambiguous/complex problems.
- Strong team collaboration skills and focus on operational excellence.
- Familiarity with big data and relational databases.
