Senior Technical Project Manager (Professional Services)
Role Overview The Senior Technical Project Manager plays a crucial role in leading end-to-end customer implementations within our Professional Services team. This team, composed of Database Consultants, Migration Consultants, Trainers, and Solution Architects, is responsible for ensuring customers successfully adopt our products and achieve improved time to value. This role is pivotal in delivering a first-class Professional Services experience, managing and coordinating multiple engagements, driving successful project execution, and ensuring high customer satisfaction. The Senior Technical Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams, optimize resource utilization and forecasting, manage project scope, timeline, and budget, mitigate risks, and uphold high project delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Delivery Management Lead the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring projects meet scope, budget, time, and quality objectives. Manage the delivery of Professional Services engagements and drive customer success. Develop and maintain comprehensive project trackers, timelines, budgets, and financial reports. Leverage industry-standard project management tools, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid models), and governance processes. Implement change control mechanisms to manage project scope effectively.
- Resource & Utilization Management Ensure optimal utilization of team members by effectively allocating resources across multiple projects to balance workloads and maximize productivity. Collaborate with Professional Services leadership to forecast resource demand, ensuring the right expertise is assigned to the right projects. Continuously monitor and adjust team assignments to maintain efficiency and align with project priorities. Provide input on team capacity planning, ensuring availability of key skills for ongoing and upcoming engagements.
- Stakeholder & Communication Management Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, Sales, Finance, Operations, Product, Support, and Customer Success teams. Provide clear and transparent project reporting, ensuring effective communication across all phases of the project. Conduct effective meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements to drive alignment and decision-making. Deliver executive-level communication and presentations, influencing stakeholders and ensuring alignment on project objectives.
- Risk & Financial Management Proactively identify, track, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project outcomes. Efficiently allocate resources, including onshore/offshore and partner resources, to optimize project delivery. Monitor and adjust project scope, schedules, and budgets to maintain alignment with customer goals. Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage dynamic priorities and demands. Understand & implement remedial / “get well” plans to achieve overall Customer adoption & satisfaction.
- Coaching, Mentoring & Process Improvement Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members, fostering their professional growth. Drive continuous improvement by contributing to project management process optimization, knowledge sharing, and asset creation. Lead efforts to enhance Professional Services delivery frameworks through best practices and innovation.
