Job Details
The Service Project Manager manages large, complex inter-disciplinary projects for Smiths security equipment products and 3rd party. Responsibilities include stakeholder management, leveraging Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) best practices, and adding rigor to project definition, implementation, and deployment.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with Services, Programs, and customers to assemble project plans.
- Lead a cross-functional project team in a matrix organization.
- Prioritize efforts for team members in a resource-constrained environment.
- Understand revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections.
- Accurately forecast project milestones and revenue.
- Create and manage project plans and schedules.
- Identify and manage program risks.
- Ensure team members understand their roles.
- Manage project schedules and budgets.
- Manage deployment, relocation, and decommissions of field service security equipment.
- Communicate project status and priorities.
- Provide SOW comments and cost estimate input.
- Identify revenue sources and consult with management.
- Utilize field resources for project work.
- Control costs while maximizing revenue.
- Accept additional tasks as directed.
- Comply with export control and security regulations.
- Other duties as required.
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree or 5 years of deployment management experience.
- PMP certification preferred; must be willing to achieve PMP within 2 years if not certified.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with TSA ILS/SESI programs/projects.
- Advanced knowledge of Project Management and Business Analysis tools.
- Working knowledge of CAS compliance.
- Experience with safety regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of PMBOK/PMI methodologies.
- Proven Project Management skills – scheduling, on‐time delivery, customer expectation management.

- Ability to support field service when needed.
Background:
May require Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting via the TSA. Must pass a federal background investigation. May require a U.S. Personal Security Clearance.
