What you get to do in this role:The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will manage and resolve challenging issues for the ServiceNow SRE team, focusing on instance performance, reliability, and availability. The successful candidate will quickly understand the ServiceNow platform. This is a technical role requiring strong troubleshooting and technical skills.
This is a night shift role based anywhere within the Republic of Ireland.
To be successful in this role you have:
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving (using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's impact).
- Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of IT operations experience.
- Basic knowledge of ITIL-driven IT Operations (Incident, Problem & Change Management).
- Ability to work well in a team environment and productively unsupervised.
- Strong commitment to quality and customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate solutions to technical problems.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot difficult technical issues.
- Experience working on Unix/Linux environment.
- Basic understanding of networking skills, IP addressing, and routing.
- Ability to work 4 days (10-hour night shift, mostly Wed-Sat).
Preferred skills:
- Experience with TCP/IP, Networking knowledge.
- Experience with Splunk.
- Familiarity with Configuration Management tools like Ansible and Puppet.
- Working knowledge of web application stack components.
- Experience diagnosing performance degradation (e.g., explain plans, database tuning).
- Understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, Postgres).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, Windows Shell).
- Familiarity with monitoring large and scalable systems, applications, and networks.
