Full-Time Software Architect

Are you interested in engineering, new technology and scaling architecture? Can you lead talented engineers across several locations?

Then this might be the role for you! As a Software Architect, you'll guide a team of over 70 engineers focusing on:

1. Software Architecture Excellence: Define best practice guidelines, architecture documentation, and rollout within the development organization.
2. Mentoring: Support developers in consistent architecture decisions through coaching, constructive criticism, and governance principles.

Your work will improve platform scalability, stability, and maintainability. This role is critical for the happiness and motivation of the entire engineering team.

You'll be part of the Platform Engineering Tribe, closely collaborating with the Director of Platform Engineering. The tribe participates in strategic changes and initiatives across the engineering group, including hands-on work on new features/technologies while maintaining the strategic focus.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining technical and architecture vision/strategy and ensuring adoption
• Defining technology vision, evangelizing, and driving company-wide tech transformations
• Defining software architecture best practice guidelines, monitoring adherence, and implementing governance measures
• Ensuring successful execution of complex projects involving multiple teams/products
• Supporting senior developers in creating solid architecture designs and making informed trade-offs
• Evaluating tech and soft skills of senior developers and advising on development/training
• Assisting with recruitment of senior tech roles

Desired Experience and Competencies:

• Proven experience developing complex software solutions and delivering high-quality systems, preferably SaaS
• Proven architecture design and documentation experience
• Successful experience re-architecting existing systems
• Strong knowledge of modern programming languages (C#, Python, Java)
• Deep experience with REST APIs and documentation
• Experience with cloud-native development and microservices
• DevOps experience (CI/CD, automated pipelines, IaC, containerization, Kubernetes)
• Ability to drive change and influence without authority
• Excellent presentation and data visualization skills
• Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)
• (Optional) Experience with OKR framework and AI-enabled development
