Full-Time Software Engineer-1 (Python Developer)

Wiser is seeking a Software Developer to join our Extraction Team.

In this role, you'll contribute to the growth and maintenance of a substantial library of web crawling bots used by Fortune 500 brands and retailers.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested Python code, supported by pair programming and code reviews.
• Maintain the platform that delivers reports and visualizations to our customers.
• Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the platform, bots, and databases to ensure optimization and functionality.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs, designing and building scalable systems.
• Maintain and resolve existing bot issues.
• Develop and analyze new bot technologies to improve scalability.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong Python programming skills
• Experience with web scraping or web crawling
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTTP, JSON, HTML, XPath)
• Basic Flask API knowledge with Python
• Experience with databases (MongoDB, SQL, NoSQL)
• Agile development experience
• Knowledge of REST services and API design
• Proficiency in version control (Git)
• Passion for clean code and elegant solutions
• Desire to expand knowledge in Python and cloud technologies
• Commitment to continuous learning through pair programming, testing, reviews, and best practices
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Nice-to-have Skills

• Knowledge of business rules engines
• Unix-based infrastructure experience
• AWS cloud experience (EKS, EC2, etc.)
