We're looking to add an experienced Backend Engineer with solid experience in DevOps and cloud infrastructure. At this early stage, there's an opportunity to have a big impact, not only on the core product platform, but also on the team's culture and direction. What You'll Do
- Design, architect, and build Standard Metrics' core platform initiatives
- Collaborate with the product team to scope and define the features that will best help the company achieve outcomes aligned with our goals and our values
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable and secure infrastructure solutions
- Architect and manage complex Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring maintainability and scalability
- Design, build, and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline deployment
- Integrate advanced deployment strategies such as blue-green deployments and canary releases
- Architect and optimize AWS cloud environment with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery
- Implement and manage enterprise-level monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Lead the implementation of security best practices, including automated security testing, vulnerability management, and incident response strategies
- Mentor and guide product engineers in best practices and advanced methodologies
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of backend development experience in Python
- 2+ years of experience in DevOps, System Administration, or related role
- Experience with AWS cloud platforms, including advanced services and architectures
- Proven expertise with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Deep experience with version control systems, notably Git, and familiarity with branching strategies and best practices
