Full-Time Software Engineering Manager - QE Automation

We're seeking a dynamic and technically savvy Software Engineering Manager – QE Automation to lead and elevate quality engineering across our Lead Platform products. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader to excel in fast-moving, self-directed environments, who is excited about building systems and processes where they don't yet exist.

Lead Platform products are the central hub for managing and processing family inquiries, including lead capture, routing, and tracking. Ensuring each lead is efficiently directed to the appropriate internal team for the best possible family experience.

Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering – Lead Platform, you'll be both a strategic driver and tactical executor. You'll build robust test automation frameworks, influence vision, coach engineers, and drive cross-functional quality initiatives. This role directly impacts how we scale technology and deliver meaningful experiences.

What you will do:

• Own and evolve the test automation strategy for internal Lead Platform applications, introducing modern frameworks and best practices.
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of QA engineers, guiding both automation and manual testers.
• Bring structure and clarity to the organization by defining test processes, setting standards, and improving software development/testing.
• Build robust, reusable automation for web, mobile, and API layers using modern tools and frameworks.
• Serve as a change agent, advocating for quality as a shared responsibility.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define testable requirements, and ensuring quality throughout development.
• Advocate for risk-based testing strategies balancing coverage, velocity, and business impact.
• Define quality gates, track metrics, and communicate risks to stakeholders.
• Influence culture and team norms, helping the Lead Platform organization mature its engineering and delivery practices.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 7+ years of software QA/test engineering, with 2+ years in technical leadership/management.
• Success building automation frameworks from scratch in unstructured environments.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, etc.)
• Deep understanding of API testing (REST and GraphQL).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience validating data and testing across databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Agile experience, strong SDLC and continuous delivery understanding.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
