As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining databases.
Your role will involve optimizing database performance, managing security, performing regular backups, and implementing high availability solutions.
You will oversee SQL Server databases across multiple environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
Managing database replication, clustering, Always On availability groups, and other HA/DR strategies is crucial.
Your expertise will be essential in administering SQL Server instances hosted on Azure, optimizing cloud database performance, and ensuring seamless migrations from on-premises environments.
You will develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, troubleshoot performance issues, and design efficient database schemas.
Automation is a key aspect, implementing scripts and processes to streamline maintenance, backups, and health checks using PowerShell and SQL Server Agent Jobs.
Also responsible for implementing Change Data Capture (CDC), job monitoring, and alerts to ensure database health.
Configuring SSL/TLS encryption for SQL Server instances and continuously improving performance through indexing and execution plan analysis.
Collaboration with development teams and stakeholders is essential to align database architecture with business goals.
On-call support for production issues and contribution to documentation and process improvement initiatives.
Experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration (CD/CI) pipelines, cloud deployment (preferably Azure), Agile practices, and deployment tools (like Octopus) is valuable.
Familiarity with MS Project, Excel-Macros, document management (for audit compliance) is advantageous.
Requires 3-4 years of experience in release and deployment management, coordination of cross-functional teams, and strong leadership, analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational abilities.
Proficiency with Windows platforms, MSSQL databases, and ticketing tools (like ServiceNow). Experience in MS Azure cloud environment and CI/CD tools (Octopus Deploy).
Knowledge of version control (Azure DevOps) and monitoring tools (Grafana) is beneficial.
