As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining databases to ensure smooth operation.
Your role will involve optimizing database performance, managing security, performing regular backups, and implementing high availability solutions.
You will oversee SQL Server databases across multiple environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
Managing database replication, clustering, Always On availability groups, and other HA/DR strategies is a crucial part of your responsibilities.
Your expertise will be essential in administering SQL Server instances hosted on Azure, optimizing cloud database performance, and ensuring seamless migrations from on-premises environments.
You will be responsible for developing and optimizing complex T-SQL queries, troubleshooting performance issues, and designing efficient database schemas.
Automation is key, requiring you to implement scripts and processes to streamline database maintenance, backups, and health checks using PowerShell and SQL Server Agent Jobs.
You will also implement Change Data Capture (CDC), job monitoring, and alerts to ensure database health.
Configure SSL/TLS encryption for SQL Server instances and continuously improve performance through indexing and execution plan analysis.
Collaboration with development teams and stakeholders is essential to align database architecture with business goals.
Provide on-call support for production issues and contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration (CD/CI) pipelines, cloud deployment (preferably Azure).
- Experience with Agile practices.
- Familiarity with deployment tools (Octopus), MS Project, and Excel-Macros.
- Experience in document management for audit compliance.
- 3-4 years relevant experience in release and deployment management, coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, analytical skills, troubleshooting, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with Windows platforms, MSSQL databases, and ticketing tools (ServiceNow).
- Experience in MS Azure cloud environment and CI/build deployment tools (Octopus Deploy).
- Knowledge of version control (Azure DevOps) and monitoring tools (Grafana) is beneficial.
