Full-Time Sr Contracts Negotiator (Remote)

Job Responsibilities:

1. Drafting, negotiating, and supporting the implementation of contracts and amendments related to California ISO markets, services, operations, and interconnections.
2. Providing subject matter expertise for ISO Tariff amendments and implementation.
3. Managing interactions with various stakeholders (generators, regulatory commissions).
4. Collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams.
5. Acting as subject matter expert in specific service areas.
6. Demonstrating technical, commercial, and regulatory expertise.
7. Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
8. Developing creative approaches to address specific utility or market participant circumstances.
9. Drafting, reviewing, and providing subject matter expertise on FERC filings.
10. Providing direction to other ISO departments.
11. Providing subject matter expertise and guidance on ISO policies and procedures.
12. Preparing and presenting reports to ISO management and stakeholders.
13. Facilitating and participating in projects supporting ISO strategies.

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience in the electric utility industry, including engineering, legal, or business aspects.
• Experience with ISO markets, scheduling, operations, contracts, or ISO Tariff provisions.
• Significant subject matter expertise in the generator interconnection process.
• Understanding of transmission upgrade categories and complex interconnection scenarios.
• Experience evaluating FERC regulations.
• Understanding of the transmission planning process.
• Experience with ISO market scheduling, dispatch, and settlements processes (preferred).
• Experience implementing new contracts and tariff provisions.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams in complex negotiations.
• Detailed knowledge of ISO Tariff and ISO contracts.
