PMO Sr. Director DescriptionOur company is looking for a project portfolio management senior director to join our team. Our PMO is set up to ensure projects are executed successfully, on time and within budget. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining high standards for leading a portfolio of technology projects using best-in-class project and portfolio management methodologies, standards and tools.
PMO Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall PMO capability maturity through strategic inputs and execution.
- Implement processes and efficiencies that meet or exceed the expectations established at project initiation.
- Develop and govern program and portfolio management processes, uses of tools, templates, keeping aligned with standards and metrics.
- Monitor projects, programs and portfolio to ensure compliance with project policies and standards as well as keeping to schedule, budget and quality expectations.
- Manage project, program and portfolio deliverables and tasks.
- Coach and mentor team and share knowledge and best practices.
- Hire and manage PMO staff, including project, program and portfolio professionals, in line with organizational objectives.
- Report to executive team on progress and performance of PMO.
- Work with executive team to assess and decide on portfolio planning of proposals based on highest potential value, impact and strategic alignment.
- Identify project, program and portfolio priorities, deal with challenges and communicate project risks and opportunities.
PMO Sr. Director Skills
- Minimum of 6+ years of large-scale portfolio management experience.
- Minimum of 12+ years of project management experience in a large-scale enterprise.
- 15+ years overall professional experience.
- Extensive Experience monitoring and evaluating projects, programs and portfolios in large scale organizations.
- Proven record of building high performing teams.
- Successfully manages portfolio and project deliverables and keeps to timelines.
- Expert knowledge of portfolio, project and change management methodologies, techniques and processes.
- Able to manage budget, cost and profitability.
- Able to grow and assign program and project talent.
- Able to blend Agile and Waterfall methodologies to deliver projects successfully.
- High-level communication, interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with project managers, teams, and stakeholders.
- Flexible, adaptable and resourceful.
- Ability to understand and use the PMO tools.
PMO Sr. Director Education
- Master’s degree in business administration or related experience preferred
Compensation
For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $226,500 - $396,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits.
Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure.
Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
