Timmons Group seeks a senior GIS Software Engineer passionate about mapping technology and front-end development. Ideal for engineers proficient in Angular and Esri's ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable GIS web applications using Angular and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
- Integrate geospatial functionality into custom applications for clients.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create responsive and accessible front-end solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Gather requirements and provide technical insights.
- Stay updated with industry trends and Esri APIs.
- Contribute to architectural decisions.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Angular
- 3+ years of experience with Esri's JavaScript API
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with geospatial data (services, layers, symbology, map views, editing).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with other geospatial libraries (OpenLayers, Mapbox, Leaflet)
- Familiarity with GIS SaaS and server technologies (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, GeoServer)
- Knowledge and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
