We are seeking a talented Senior Manager for our Home Care Engineering Team. This team uses a modern technology stack to build, update, and maintain frontend and backend infrastructure and tools supporting the home care business. The role involves leading a small, impactful team of full-stack developers and QA engineers, reporting to the VP of Engineering.
Who you are:
- An experienced people manager with a strong understanding of technology, able to manage a high-performance team and interact with executive stakeholders.
- Understand the future vision of the product area and lead the Home Care Engineering team in building iterative, scalable solutions.
- Leverage technology experience to evaluate and select the latest technologies, architectural frameworks, and design patterns.
- Provide visionary leadership and direction to a dedicated team focused on engaging families seeking home care solutions.
What you will do:
- Lead and mentor the Home Care engineering team, providing strategic direction, fostering innovation, and establishing frameworks for work management, communication, and execution.
- Collaborate with Product partners and Executive-level stakeholders to identify business opportunities, present innovative technical solutions, and lead high-impact projects driving revenue growth.
- Encourage innovation with new technologies, build proof of concept, and present results to leadership.
- Partner with other directors and tech leads to understand cross-team dependencies, validate feature proposals, and drive system improvements.
- Provide tools, confidence, and motivation to empower independent decision-making for team members.
- Develop the Home Care technical strategy and roadmap, driving towards business outcomes and tracking success metrics.
- Champion a quality-focused approach to ensure accountability and growth opportunities for roadmap deliverables.
- Professionally develop engineers by supporting personal development plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Aggressively recruit and hire talented engineers.
- Collaborate with Product Partners and Stakeholders to align company objectives with engineering requirements and influence technical direction and user experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience working on or managing high-performance engineering teams, preferably including developers and QA engineers.
- Experience leading teams developing modern, high-traffic applications and backend services, preferably using .NET Core.
- Experience practicing modern software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, XP).
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience in developing a culture of product ownership.
- Strong understanding of project management software (Jira), metrics, and analytics.
- Understanding of CRM capabilities (Salesforce), API architecture (REST and GraphQL), data collection/storage methodologies and tools (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch), and AWS Services, Docker, CI/CD.
Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000 base salary + 20% bonus.
