The Cloud Enablement and Acceleration team designs, implements, and maintains Cloud Control Planes for AWS, Azure, and GCP. The Control Planes use account/subscription/project factories with tooling, automation, and guardrails for easy and safe cloud use, including governance, identity management, network enablement, and cloud observability.
Sr Staff Software Engineer will provide technical leadership to engineering teams developing core pipelines for automating and managing Cloud Control Planes.
Responsibilities include articulating a vision, driving execution of cloud platform automation, code reviews, technical design, and platform operability and observability. You'll also participate in designing, building, and maintaining the backend of Public Cloud services.
Collaborate with Cyber, Network Services, and broader NBCU developers. Ensure customer cloud acceleration and maturity through best services, tools, and processes.
Equip development teams with necessary knowledge, skills, and tools. Focus on driving innovation while respecting the past. Passion for teaching others is key.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
- 12+ years experience in public cloud infrastructure, software development, and automation
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, etc.)
- Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, Version Control, Testing Frameworks, and DevSecOps
- Proficiency with AWS Organizations/Control Tower and Azure CAF management/design
- Service Catalog service offering productization experience
- Strong proficiency with cloud networking (VPCs/VNets, IAM, DX/ExpressRoute)
- Mentorship experience to grow others' technical skills and careers
- Demonstrable experience as a developer, ability to guide others
- Passion for DevOps culture, automation, and modern tooling
- Effective communication with technical, business, and leadership teams
- Ability to deliver tools and self-service capabilities for secure cloud workload maintenance
- Technical documentation (architecture, strategy, engineering)
- Leadership skills in fast-paced, team-driven environments
- Big-picture understanding with detail-oriented delivery
- Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
