Full-Time Staff Cloud Capacity Engineer

As a Staff Engineer within Global Cloud Services, you will guide customers through new platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Manage greenfield projects, utilizing new technology stacks.
• Drive long-term adoption and optimization of new platforms for Data Center customers.
• Collect requirements, conduct demos, and gather customer/stakeholder feedback.
• Meet project milestones across multiple quarters.
• Ensure successful implementation leveraging technical relationships and strategic consulting.
• Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders for measurable customer success.

Key Tasks:

• Write and maintain software-defined declarative infrastructure at scale.
• Create build systems, web services, and automation tools (thoroughly specified, documented, and testable).
• Research and implement new open-source and commercial tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Participate in customer onboarding and activation processes for a smooth transition.
• Advise customers on best practices and strategies for leveraging next-generation technology.
• Identify opportunities for clients to optimize costs, expand solution usage, and drive adoption of new features.
• Conduct training sessions, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, guides, and tutorials.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in technical support or professional services within the technology industry.
• Strong expertise in deploying and operating Kubernetes in lab and production environments.
• Drive architectural discussions and influence technical decisions for streamlined infrastructure.
• Participate in compliance audits and proactively meet controls.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable building and maintaining Linux-based systems with automated tooling (Terraform, Cobbler, Puppet, Ansible, etc.).
• Comfortable with virtualization using public and private cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure, Amazon EC2, VMware vSphere, etc.).
• Comfortable designing, authoring, testing, and debugging code in popular languages (Python, Go, Java, or Ruby).
• Working understanding of related infrastructure concepts (IP networking, storage, load-balancers, etc.) and internet protocols (DNS, LDAP, NTP, SMTP, HTTP, etc.).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work extended hours to design, maintain, and troubleshoot systems.
