We are seeking a talented Staff Software Engineer to update and maintain our internal core services, leveraging a modern technology stack. The role involves developing and acting as team lead for a team of full-stack developers and QA engineers. This position reports to the Director of Engineering - Emerging Technologies.
You will be responsible for leading mission-critical projects, providing visionary leadership and architectural direction, and selecting the latest technologies, frameworks, and design patterns for implementation.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading engineering teams to build and maintain core services.
- Owning one or many products/platform spaces.
- Collaborating with partners and customers to gather feedback.
- Building and growing engineering skills and solving hard technical problems.
- Influencing architecture, technology selection, and overall company trends.
- Designing complex applications, reviewing code, and optimizing performance.
- Championing quality engineering practices (e.g., linting, unit testing, end-to-end testing, pipeline automation).
- Collaborating with product teams to build/maintain design system standards.
- Creating reference implementations for mentoring junior staff.
- Defining engineering best practices and providing technical mentorship.
- Investigating and resolving production issues (from UI to service layer).
- Working with project managers to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Skills and Competencies:
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- Strong communication and "storytelling" skills.
- Proven experience as a team lead.
- Role modeling Agile, DevOps, and related practices.
- Expert with .NET (from legacy Framework to Core).
- Passion for new technologies and driving innovation.
- Strong problem-solving skills (debugging, analysis, instrumentation).
- Ability to take ownership of large initiatives.
