Full-Time Staff Software Engineer

NBCUniversal is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of innovative new systems and solutions leveraging emerging technologies. This role is part of a team focused on quickly proving the value of new technologies and bringing them to production.

Responsibilities:

• Develop prototypes for new proofs of concept, ensuring usability and adherence to design specifications.
• Maintain knowledge of back-end systems to facilitate efficient API integration and occasional deployment of basic full-stack applications.
• Integrate front-end systems with Active Directory and UX flows for SAML authentication.
• Uphold high code quality through rigorous testing, code standards, and comprehensive testing.
• Develop automated tests for code compatibility and cross-device/browser compatibility.
• Create documentation for developers and business users.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to navigate system complexities and deploy solutions efficiently.
• Deploy to cloud platforms and troubleshoot application, cloud, and configuration issues.
• Utilize tools for code & test generation to accelerate feature delivery.

Basic Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in full-stack development, demonstrated through a portfolio and experience.
• Proven ability to bring a basic application from idea to delivery independently.
• Expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+), asynchronous programming, and a modern front-end framework (React preferred).
• Strong understanding of web design principles, responsive design, and UI/UX best practices.
• Experience with front-end testing frameworks, code versioning tools, and clean code practices.
• Strong understanding of back-end technologies (Python), RESTful services, and API integration.
• Proficient in designing and implementing serverless architectures, deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with Terraform.
• Adaptability in an agile development environment.
• Ability to visualize, socialize, and build system architecture.

Additional Requirements:

• Fully remote position.
• Eligibility for company-sponsored benefits.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000 (bonus eligible).
