Full-Time Staff Software Engineer - Emerging Tech

ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a talented Staff Software Engineer to update and maintain internal core services using a modern technology stack. This role leads an engineering team including full stack developers and QA engineers.

Reports to the Director of Engineering - Emerging Technologies.

ExpertiseLeverage technology expertise to select modern technologies, architectural frameworks, and design patterns for implementation.

Provide visionary leadership and architectural direction to a dedicated engineering team developing core service technologies supporting the business.

Strong partnership with product teams to ensure alignment between technological innovation and product development goals.

What you will do

1. Lead mission-critical projects, delivering platform capabilities end-to-end with high quality.
2. Own one or more products or platform spaces.
3. Gain exposure to partners and customers in diverse business domains to provide feedback.
4. Develop and grow engineering skills in challenging areas and solve complex technical problems.
5. Influence architecture, technology selections, and company trends.
6. Collaborate with team and peers to design applications, review code, and suggest optimization.
7. Enable continuous deployment by championing quality engineering practices (linting, unit testing, e2e testing, pipeline automation).
8. Collaborate with product teams to maintain design system standards, processes, and adoption.
9. Create reference implementations for mentoring junior staff.
10. Define engineering best practices and provide technical mentorship.
11. Investigate and resolve production issues, working to prevent future occurrences.
12. Ensure project deliverables are on time and high quality.
