Full-Time Staff Software Engineer - Java

Experian is seeking a seasoned Staff Software Engineer (Cloud-native Java) to develop and deliver direct-to-customer products on a cloud-native Java platform. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering, this technical role requires strong coding skills. You will lead projects and developers.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on leadership and team contributions building API-based systems.
• Development of secure, efficient solutions within tight timeframes.
• Building scalable and reliable systems for consumer products and services on AWS.
• Integrating 3rd party and internal APIs, async, and file-based services (CSV, JSON, XML).
• Overseeing deliverables from brainstorming to testing/production.
• Mentoring and collaborating with team members.
• Maintaining standards for regulatory compliance and information security.
• Ensuring accurate, complete, and current documentation.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of software development experience, including building and testing secure applications.
• Hands-on experience collaborating on a commercial software project in cloud-native Java.
• Proficiency in server-side Java development using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Reactor-Core.
• Current AWS cloud technology experience (Kubernetes, Fargate, S3, MKS, or Lambda).
• Understanding of microservices, event-driven techniques, and data pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL data access and management.
• Familiarity with asynchronous messaging, logging, or queues (Kafka, NATS, SQS, RabbitMQ).
• Experience managing PII/secure/sensitive data.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, testing frameworks, and practices (CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CLI).
• Strong understanding of design principles and patterns, and unit testing.

Additional Preferred Experience:

• Experience building systems for financial services or tightly regulated businesses.
• Mass-market retail online consumer product experience.
• Security and privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA) experience.
