Temporary Staff Writer

Forbes Advisor is looking for a Staff Writer with a background in digital content creation, writing, reporting and SEO best practices.

This position is temporary but could move to permanent, with an initial contract of three months.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for writing high-quality content and an interest in a broad range of personal finance and related categories.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering 3-5 high-impact, well-written short posts on trending topics daily, working with the Editorial team.

Responsibilities:

• Write helpful, accurate and engaging news and trend stories; 3-5 short stories daily
• Work collaboratively with fellow writers and editorial leadership to ensure output meets Forbes Advisor’s quality standards, reporting to a Lead Editor
• Consistently write and publish high-performing content that drives traffic and engagement, and update stories with timely information as needed
• Brainstorm and generate story ideas and coordinate with your editors to bring them to life
• Leverage data and SEO best practices when writing and reporting
• Work cross-functionally to promote content across Forbes Advisor’s channels, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube and Shorts, and more

Requirements:

• A portfolio that displays your writing proficiency and ability to tell compelling stories
• Ability to turn complex financial topics into easily digestible snippets
• Creative vision that aligns with Forbes Advisor’s editorial tone, voice and vision
• Experience with SEO best practices preferred
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Nimble and open to quick changes in strategy
• Ability to work in a startup environment

This position is a full-time role (40 hours a week) at an hourly rate of $20 per hour. This is a 3-month internship.
