Full-Time Sustaining Capability Director

The Director, Sustaining Capabilities will establish, resource, and manage a ring-fenced Sustaining organization.

Responsibilities:

• Develop & refine decision trees for EOL actions (last-time buys, alternate sourcing, re-engineering).
• Create pathways for input from relevant functions (Service, Operations, Supply Chain).
• Interface with Functional & Project Managers for alignment.
• Track & evaluate harvesting progress against Sustaining support.
• Ensure appropriate consumption of LTB raw materials.
• Communicate EOL activities with customer-facing contacts.
• Assist in forecasting & budgeting for Sustaining contract proposals.
• Lead, manage, and develop a team of technical engineering professionals.
• Liaise with Technology functional directors for resource management.
• Develop relationships with adjacent functions.
• Create inclusive development environments.
• Provide technical oversight of the Sustaining organization.
• Consider all inputs (service consumption, volumes, refurbishments, redesigns) for EOL resolution.
• Prioritize EOL activities to avoid impacting production/service.
• Develop innovative technology solutions for EOL concerns.
• Create & maintain financing pathways for Sustaining activities.
• Update budgets & forecasts for Sustaining activities.
• Develop strong communication with internal & external stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to business policies, HS&E, legal requirements, and government contracts.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical discipline; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

• Experience in Engineering or technical development, with emphasis on multi-functional project management/sustainment management.
