Full-Time System Administrator

System Administrator at Discourse, a global company with a 100% open-source product.

We are looking for System Administrators within the Americas (UTC -5 to UTC -8 time zones).

Responsibilities:

• Debugging across all tech stack layers, focusing on network, storage, and systems management.
• Ongoing capacity planning, platform reliability, and security improvements.
• Compliance.
• Design and implement new software tools and services.
• Applying computing theory to solve problems.
• Engaging vendors and data center personnel for hardware management.

Requirements:

• Well-rounded understanding of application-OS-network interfaces.
• C programming knowledge and proficiency in Unix-like systems.
• Fluency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Ruby, Go).
• Experience with tools like Docker, Puppet, Terraform, Prometheus, ELK.
• Excellent written communication skills.
