Job Details
NBCUniversal is seeking a Systems Engineer to focus on System and Application Discovery solutions. The role involves applying DevOps and SRE principles to enhance workflows across Enterprise IT, Broadcast, Media Fulfillment, and Post Production.
Responsibilities:
- Manage System and Application Discovery tools for Automation and SRE.
- Develop and maintain Cloud-based (AWS/Azure/GCP) and on-premise automations.
- Gather data for audit requests via discovery or automation tools.
- Participate in architecture discussions.
- Work with business units and vendors to implement new solutions.
- Partner with engineering teams to deliver solutions.
- Identify areas for automation and process improvement.
- Create architecture diagrams and documentation.
- Maintain Ansible Playbooks and Roles for Unix, Windows, and Mac.
- Stay updated on new technologies.
- Participate in on-call rotations.
Experience:
- Experience supporting engineering systems.
- Experience with AWS tools (Lambda, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Serverless).
- Proficiency in languages and technologies including git, Python, Ansible, Terraform, JavaScript (React and node), CSS3, and HTML5.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with discovery tools (Eracent, Device 42, UCMDB, ADDM, etc.).
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Experience in a SRE or DevOps team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
- Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL), Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, and Ansible.
- Experience with Powershell and Power Automate is a plus.
