Full-Time Technical Product Manager

FairMoney is a mobile banking institution specializing in credit for emerging markets.

Role Overview: The Technical Product Manager will oversee the strategic development and enhancement of payment systems (switches and backend infrastructure).

1. Technical Strategy and System Architecture: Develop technical strategy for payment processing (scalability, security, compliance). Design system architectures for complex transactions.
2. Product Development: Lead technical development of payment solutions (conceptualization to deployment), meeting business needs and performance standards. Collaborate with engineering teams.
3. Market and Technology Analysis: Analyze latest payment technologies and trends. Evaluate competitive solutions.
4. Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure payment solutions comply with financial regulations. Implement strategies to mitigate technical risks.
5. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize payment system performance for increased transaction volumes. Utilize data analytics for efficiency and user satisfaction.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define product requirements and roadmaps.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Product Manager in a technical role, specifically within the payments industry.
• Strong background in developing payment switches and understanding of backend infrastructure.
• Proficiency in technical aspects of payment systems (APIs, payment gateways, transaction lifecycle management).
• Ability to lead technical teams and manage complex product developments.
• Strong problem-solving, strategic, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with the Nigerian payment ecosystem and regulatory environment (beneficial).
