Acumatica is seeking a Technical Product Manager – Distribution with expertise in business management software and in-depth knowledge of order management, inventory control, supply chain management, and warehouse management.
The successful candidate will be passionate about understanding the needs of mid-sized business customers and helping Acumatica deliver exceptional solutions. This role will require strong communication, analytical, and technical skills to manage the product roadmap, gather customer feedback, monitor competitors and industry trends, and evangelize the distribution solution within the Acumatica community.
Responsibilities:
- Product Planning and Development:
- Visit and speak with customers, partners, and internal teams to understand processes related to purchasing, order management, inventory management, replenishment, and warehouse operations.
- Drive a solution set across development and marketing teams through product requirements, user personas, product planning, and communication.
- Work with Business Analysts and engineering to ensure functional specifications meet product requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering to review product feature development progress, ensuring alignment with product requirements.
- Monitor feature usage telemetry to understand user interactions and identify areas for enhancement.
- Create, maintain, and present product roadmaps.
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct competitive product analysis and assessment comparisons.
- Visit existing Customers and Partners to gather requirements and gain market knowledge.
- Manage focus groups, community engagement, user groups, and advisory boards to gather market intelligence.
- Document and present product requirements.
- Program Management:
- Participate and deliver events and seminars.
- Ensure sales and partners are properly trained to ensure market success.
- Become a subject matter expert for distribution capabilities and processes.
- Product Launch Readiness:
- Execute new product release activities and coordination across the entire organization.
- Identify early adopters and manage the beta release process.
- Review documentation and training materials and provide feedback and guidance to education teams.
- Review the output of the Quality Assurance group to ensure customer, prospect, partner, and market needs are met at a high level of satisfaction.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop sales tools (videos, fact sheets, data sheets, etc.) to effectively communicate new features.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of product management experience in business applications (ERP space)
- 5+ years of domain experience in the distribution vertical markets
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and supply chain management
- Experience working with engineering to deliver outstanding products
- Strong understanding of customer usage patterns and the ability to apply this knowledge to create innovative solutions
- Experience working with cross-discipline, geographically dispersed teams
- Excellent business and technical acumen
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong decision-making and time-management skills
- Large company experience applicable to a smaller team
- Ability to build action plans, define goals, strategies, tactics, and timelines
- Self-driven and realistic about goals
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
