JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a highly skilled Triage Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, programming, observability tools, cloud technologies, and automation.
You will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting complex system issues, optimizing system performance, and ensuring reliability across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and triage complex network, system, and application issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable insights to improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and QA, to resolve incidents and enhance system stability.
- Develop and maintain automation tools for building, testing, releasing, monitoring, and alarming.
- Utilize observability tools like ELK and Splunk for log analysis and system monitoring.
- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, leveraging cloud monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Datadog.
- Contribute to microservices architecture development and ensure efficient system integration.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD processes using tools like Jenkins and Concourse.
- Design and execute complex database queries for troubleshooting and optimization.
- Participate in Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Networking Expertise: In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and network hardware. Strong network diagnostic skills.
- Domain-Specific Knowledge: Experience with WiFi fundamentals, DOCSIS basics, and video streaming/encryption/encoding protocols is a plus.
- Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in Shell scripting, C/C++, Java, Go, and Python.
- Systems Experience: Strong background in Linux, embedded systems, and OS fundamentals.
- Observability Tools: Hands-on experience with ELK and Splunk for system monitoring and diagnostics.
- Cloud Knowledge: Cloud certifications (AWS Cloud Associate, GCP, or Azure) are a plus.
- Monitoring Systems: Familiarity with Grafana, InfluxDB, Datadog, and CloudWatch is a plus.
- Automation and CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins and Concourse.
- Data Visualization and Alerting: Experience with ELK, Grafana, Looker, and Datadog is a plus.
- Microservices Architecture: Experience in designing, developing, or working with microservices architecture.
- Database Design and Querying: Knowledge of database design and experience in writing complex queries.
- Agile Methodology: Experience in Agile environments with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
