Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, mission-driven VP of Engineering to lead and grow our software engineering organization. This role is a critical member of our leadership team, responsible for developing people, scaling engineering practices, and ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable product delivery. As a learning organization, we value a growth mindset, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), aligning Engineering with key operational functions, including Technology, Legal, and People. This structure supports cross-functional collaboration, governance, and organizational effectiveness.
What we are looking for:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the long-term engineering vision and roadmap in alignment with company goals. Act as a strategic partner to Product, Learning Solutions, and Sales to shape our platform and user experience. Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels.
- People & Culture Development: Attract, mentor, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a strong, inclusive, and high-performing culture. Champion career development through coaching, feedback, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Operational Excellence: Implement and refine Agile and DevSecOps practices that drive efficient and reliable software delivery. Establish metrics to measure engineering effectiveness and drive accountability across teams.
- Technical Oversight: Guide architectural decisions to ensure scalability, security, performance, and maintainability. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies that support our growth and innovation.
What a successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams at scale (preferably in a SaaS, B2B, and B2C environment).
- Strong background in modern software development practices, cloud infrastructure, Salesforce, and agile delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
- Deep belief in the power of learning organizations, with a track record of growing both people and process maturity.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical vision into business impact.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Experience
- Experience with enterprise-scale agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe®) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with building platforms that support learning, certification, or content delivery.
- Background in security, compliance, and enterprise software reliability is highly desirable.
